Most of the piano repertoire consists of what is now known as classical music. It spans the Baroque period to the 21st century and includes composers such as Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, Mozart, Schumann, Schubert, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Debussy, Ravel, Schoenberg and Stockhausen, to name but a few. The selection of classical piano works available to us is vast, which is fantastic because they can be approached by pianists of different levels and abilities.
At the Paris Music Institute, we are delighted to help adults choose the classical works best suited to their level and guide them in interpreting these pieces.
We always respect each student’s preferences. Some choose to study Classical composers, while others prefer to study Romantic composers. However, we believe it is equally important to discover new styles with which you are unfamiliar, as this will broaden your horizons and encourage you to work on pieces that do not necessarily belong to your favourite styles.
Composers do not use the instrument in the same way in every period, and different aspects can be explored by studying works written at different points in history.
If you take classical piano lessons with us at the Paris Music Institute.
we will be delighted to work with you on some of your favourite pieces and help you understand the meaning of each one.
Your classical piano lessons will be taught by an experienced teacher who’s a specialist in adult tuition and passionate about sharing their extraordinary understanding of classical music.
